Tilton-Northfield Recreation Council Board Meeting Minutes
April 12, 2008
Those present:
Cindy Beaulieu, Shirley Curdie, Melissa D’Abbraccio, Dorene Tilton, Rose-Marie Welch, Eilene Wellington, Katie Duffey, Brittni Stewart, Jennifer Corneau
Meeting called to order.
The minutes of the March monthly meeting were accepted.
Financial Report:
-No Financial report
-Katie distributed list of checks for the month of March
Executive Director's Report:
-Jen Corneau presented the new website. It looks great!
-Craig and Monica Gordon donated $2000 for Summer Playground Scholarships
-Katie will be applying for the Lindsay Trust grant
-We will be having a “Raise the Roof” fundraiser on May 15th at Uno’s , to raise money for repairs to the front roof. Katie will make up a poster to have on display at the restaurant. She thought of having the scout troops make a model of the building to have on display. Volunteers from the Pines can wait tables or bartend. Katie suggested that volunteers dress as construction workers. Certificates for this event will be distributed. Shirley suggested sending some to the staff at the Middle and High Schools. Flyers will be sent to the Elementary Schools. Shirley noted that if the schools know, the staff will usually order lunch from the restaurant.
-There will be a Golf Tournament at Den Brae on August 16th.
-Lowe’s has a community program and has offered to donate materials of some sort. Chris Perry the Regional Manager will be doing a walk through the building for ideas of items which are needed.
-Lowe’s also has a grant which you can apply for on-line, with a list of materials
-Katie will ask Brian Huckins to come down and give a quote of what is needed for the roof, We should try to obtain 8 estimates from contractors.
-The Building Committee will meet, if possible, with Brian to formulate a plan.
-Glen Eastman has offered to paint the downstairs
The next Texas Hold’Em is April 22nd. Shirley offered to do one in May. Dorene and Eilene still have not received their badges,
-Job description changes were discussed.

the change to add “Cover gas meter” to October duties
-Bob will be on vacation March 21 – 25
-Katie would like to take a weeks vacation May 5 - 10
Recreation Director's Report:
-The article in the Echo did not list BJ’s under donations for the breakfast. It will be noted in the next article.
-Old Home Day is June 28th, Natalie McCormick , from UNH, will be running a basketball and volleyball tournament. We need to find out what the theme is for the parade.
-Trying to get tickets to a Red Sox game
-Earth Day the Tilton School students will be doing spring clean up. The Vacation Camp kids will be helping
-Chris Hampe would like some applications for CIT’s, He has some student who are interested
-This years Summer Program will have Director’s at each station and the councilors will bring the kids to the Director’s

-A CD of the minutes for 2007 and thus far for 2008 were given to Katie to update the website

-Family Nights have been put on hold
-It was suggested trying a Middle School Dance, possibly May 30th or June 6th . Should contact the school , Dave and Chris
-The Easter Breakfast took in $444.50

-The sewer and water bills showed a decrease, fixes to the plumbing obviously worked
-The Town Health Insurance premium went up $2000

-The Fire Alarm inspection was cancelled last Wednesday. The Fire Dept issued permit to assemble. Fire extinguishers were inspected. New ones will need to be purchased for 2009
-Brittni’s computer needs more memory
